About Bridget
Bridget Golden is a graduate of the Tyler School of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting. She has previously worked with the Center for Emerging Visual Artists as their Programs and Exhibitions Intern. Golden has also spent time working as a teaching artist with Paper Source and Philly Art Center. Golden previously worked as a studio assistant for Philadelphia artists Jill Bonovitz and Judith Tannenbaum. She is a Philadelphia based artist, working out of a studio located in the Fairmount area. Between her studio practice, teaching and studio assisting she continues to develop a diverse span of discipline.
Golden’s work is based on aspects of the urban environment she grew up in. She works with acrylics, typically on paper, canvas or wood panel. Golden’s choice of visual relates to sensations created by the conditions around her. The choice of hues, material, layers and textures in the mark making all play a role in recreating a familiar sensation of municipality throughout the seasons.
